VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE (VTC), SELAKUI

In today's globalized economy, there is an unprecedented competition in every domain. Thousands of students are passing out from our schools and colleges every year into a limited job market where only the fittest survive. As a result, the unemployment problem for our youngsters has been a threatening trend since some years ago. In response to this, TCV started SOS Vocational Training Centre near Dehradun with the objective of providing the Tibetan youths with opporunities for a range of technical skills in various trades so that they can serve in industries and community centres in India and abroad and even set up their own businesses for self-employment. The Centre stretches over 65 acres of land and it was formally inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in November 2000.

Currently the Center caters to over 200 young youths studying in several different trades.

No. of Students 204 (As on Aug 2007 after new admission)
