TCV SCHOOL EDUCATION
Edu

The Mission of TCV is to provide a holding environment in which children are nurtured so that they may realize their full potential as human beings. Therefore, our villages and schools are integrated communities where the children grow within the warmth of homes with lots of brothers and sisters. We strive to provide the best of modern education, along with a deep and intimate understanding and appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of Tibet. Simultaneously, we try to cultivate a sense of national identity to enable the children to share the hopes and aspirations of the Tibetan people for returning some day to a free Tibet.

To achieve our Mission, we endeavor to provide a holistic education-always mindful of each child's unique intelligence and personality. As our children come from varied backgrounds, the educational programs are designed to be accommodating, sound, flexible and dynamic-consistently seeking to address a wide range of challenges and needs. With the fast changing socio-economic conditions in exile and the risks of cultural assimilation, maintaining a high quality of education for Tibetan children has assumed a far greater significance and urgency in recent years.

Edu All the TCV Schools are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, which is one of the national examination bodies in India. Over the years, TCV Schools have successfully followed the Board's curriculum and have made the most of the opportunities given by the Indian system to gear the children's education to fulfill our mission. After the successful completion of their school education, TCV continues to take the responsibility of sending the students for further education, depending on their intelligence and aptitude. For this, TCV has created various academic and vocational choices.

Handling TCV's education endeavor is like piecing together a giant jigsaw puzzle of varied interests, abilities, and needs. To make it work, the TCV Education Office creates and coordinates all educational activities, including enriching human resources development.

Edu Today TCV's education takes care of 16,091 children in five children's villages, eight residential schools and five day schools dotted in different parts of India. Majority of our schools are concentrated in Himachal Pradesh. Besides the above schools, we take care of nine day-care centres, run five vocational training centers and an out-reach program that caters to over 2500 children in different Tibetan settlements.

To support the educatioin of the children, we have established the following educational services to enhance and develop our work:
