7 May: Missing Peace Project Team along with Mr. John Salley, Former NBA player and four time Champion who played in 5 different NBA Clubs visited the Tibetan Children's Village School on the 6 May 2008. The school organized an exhibition basketball match with Mr. John and they all had a wonderful friendly game.
The team also visited the school campus and children's village during their visit and the Missing Peace Project team spent time with our kindergarten children playing guitar and singing and sharing a glorious moment with each other. Both the parties really enjoyed well and they also interviewed several children and staff on their life and day to day activities, etc.
7 May: His Excellency Jean M Deboutte, the Ambassador of Belgium and his wife paid a visit to the Tibetan Children's Village School Dharamsala on the 6 May 2008. During his visit, he met with Mr. Tsewang Yeshi, President of TCV and had toured the school and children's Village especially the Belgium Homes, Kindergarten and the Baby home, etc.
Besides that, the Ambassador visited Tibetan Reception Centre and Norbulingka Institute, Tibetan Government in Exile and had dinner with the Heads of Tibetan Government.
4 May: With the backup and support from the Norbulingka Institute of Tibetan Cultural Centre, TCV Culture Centre organized a 2 day Tibetan Thangka Exhibition from 1-2 May 2008 at its Centre. The aim and objective of organizing such kind of exhibition was to display diverse Tibetan art and crafts as well as to let the audience know how much efforts are being made to complete a piece of item. It also explained to them in detail the different aspects and varieties of Thangkas especially with regard to Buddhists deities, gods and goddesses, etc.
The exhibition was attended by more than 400 staff and children and all had a great time learning so many new aspects of one's culture, religion and tradition, etc.
