25 Dec: ‘Global Family’ Project

TCV Alumni Desk in close corporation with the TCV Alumni Association Pokhara (Nepal) has come up with a new project called “GOBAL FAMILY.” The main objective of the project is to provide extra support towards the most needy children of TCV who are orphaned and without any natural relatives thereby have never been out of TCV School during the winter holidays.

The Global Family would give such children an opportunity to spend some weeks with Alumni family members in Nepal and visit pilgrimage sites and places of tourist interest during the holidays. Being exposed to the daily life of not only the immediate host family but also others will enable the visiting students a life-time experience and perhaps promote self-confidence, The project launched this year with a group of 9 most deserving students of class VII (6 boys from TCV upper and 3 girls from Gopalpur School) who left for Nepal on 25 December with an escort and return by 28 January 2007. The trip is fully sponsored by the Pokhara Alumni chapter.
